When we first heard that our beloved Jumpmaster, Crispy (aka C-Dog), was returning to the Swing after his extensive adventures overseas we all leapt for joy and high-fived! Alas, tragedy has struck, as we have been sent an imposter instead! Who is this dwarfish Hagrid lookalike? We suspect this man may be Blind Phil’s long lost son – see the amazing likeness below!

For now we are just going to have to make do with this imposter and his inappropriate beard rubbings. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of sweet, sweet Crispy, please let us know immediately! We promise you will be handsomely rewarded!

Yaaaaaay!!!!! We are very pleasured to announce that our gorgeous domette with the piercing blue eyes is back from her 2 1/2 month jaunt in the USA. Seems like she’s had a mighty fine time while she was there as well: from working as a camp counsellor, eating cookie cereal and cake for breakfast, working on her tan, getting furthest on a giant instant pudding slip-and-slide, to spending far too long in one of the world’s largest hunting shops and fraternizing with the locals, of course! Welcome back Bexy, we love you!!!!

That’s right …. We won!  Another one for the pool room.  This one is quite special really….

Matt, Oi, Nick, Andy and I (Ana) all headed up to the big smoke of mighty Christchurch city.  It was the 2008 Tourism Awards and we were in the ‘Adventure’ category.  It was gonna be tough but we were excited, we had Gimp Ted and Helen Clark was gonna be there … doesn’t get much better then that.

We were well chuffed (considering the tough competition) that we managed to take out the award and its all down to the awesome staff, custies (you guys) and agents out there who all help to make the Shotover Canyon Swing what it is.

We ate, we drank and we danced …. and then we got a picture with the PM … all and all a great result!

We were up for this award again this year, last year we took the award out in style and we were hoping for much of the same. 

Sending up one of the best of the best of the best DVD dudes Joden (or Jodi 1 Konobie as we like to call him) was the plan.  However Air New Zealand had different ideas, with a broken plane poor ole Jodi 1 had no chance of splurgin the company card around the big smoke …. luckily we had a back up plan and had a couple of ex-staff members already up in Auckland.  Crispy ‘Your Gonna Die!’ Duck and Aimee ‘I Don’t Get Paid Enough For This Job’ were poised in wings … and once again we won!

We’re stoked that we have taken out this prize for the second time in a row.  Aimee and Crispy celebrated in style for us … hopefully I’ll have some photo’s for you once I’ve censored them ……

Despite our best efforts at covering Sarge in flour, eggs and water …. the man came back!  After completing his Police training he managed to convince a whole heap of other coppers to come out and experience his previous place of work.  We couldn’t resist the temptation to dress up in our best copper gear in support of the boys in blue …. See if you can pick which one is Sarge and which one is Bubbles …. it’s tricky one …..

Well the Albatross $10 extra swing deal is all done and dusted and we had heaps of fun raising money for the big giant birds.  Now we have a new great deal for all our swing lovers out there who missed out on our fund raiser.  From now till the end of June 2008 you can get an extra swing for $29 normally priced at $49!!  So get out here and take advantage of our crazy deal before it ends. Due to the mass five staff exit … we had to take on a couple of staff to … plug the holes if you will … first is our new resident Kiwi Ms Kate who comes from the other Island (thats the North Island for those who don’t know) .. and from out West no less … Respect ….

Then we got our very first American (see if you can pick her photo) … we figured we’d gotten a Canadian to work here and so far its actually worked out better then we feared … so hopefully young Taelor (yes … that is how you spell her name …) will be able to educate us in the ways of American to Kiwi talk … we actually just hired her purely to upset Trev (the Canadian) … its fun to watch them slog it out …

Joanne is our new Scottish lass (seen here with the 2nd most cutest puppy in the world … second only to my dog Goldie) … and proving to be a dab hand at speaking a very good fake scottish accent … so much so we do actually believe she is from Scotland … Joanne in her previous life used to organise weddings … so if anyone’s good at sorting out the madness that is the swing world then we figured she came well qualified …

Then we thought why hire one Scottish person when you could get two in …. Doug is our new Trainee Jump Master …. we managed to woo Doug over from the dark side and convince him that throwing people off a cliff everyday was much more fun then drinking himself into a stupor and being a tour guide all day …. As you can see …. Dougie has a great face for the swing camera (seen here on the right …) …

And finally we got Sam … Sam had the longest interview process in the world but she kept coming back so we thought … this ones a keeper … Sams from England and as you can see from the reaction she gave us when she got the swing job … she’s as mad as a snake … so everyone’s just settling in just fine …..
