We swingers are very proud to have supported Queenstown local Tina and her buddies in their recent charity rickshaw race across India. Their once-in-a-lifetime journey took them through torrential rain, desert roads, steamy jungles, extreme heat and awe-inspiring mountain ranges. They visited Orissa, where their whopping fundraising total of $5,000 NZD will be helping locals, through the good work of FRANK Water and Mercy Corps.
MASSIVE hats off to Tina and the boys, what a brilliant fundraiser to be part of – we’re very pleased to have helped them in their magnificent mission!

After some top-secret meetings and photo shoots, we are ever so excited to announce that we are now offering Tandem Gimp Boy jumps! So not only does the Shotover Canyon Swing give you the highest tandem cliff jump in the whole wide world, you can now do it many different ways; be released the right way up with the cutaway, leap yourselves off the platform, or dangle upside-down styley and get unleashed face first into the canyon with your best bud.

To celebrate the excitement of the winter wonderland that Queenstown and Swingworld have become, we’re giving our customers half price extra swings until the end of June.
HOW completely brilliant – so you can jump off a cliff a couple of times and still have time to zip up the hill for an afternoon of downhill slidy action before painting the town red…. or chill-axing with a hot chocolate in front of the fire!

BIG hearts, as it goes. And big, deep pockets. We’ve been thrilled with the response to our ‘Have a Heart’ campaign and amassed a whopping $4,785! For 2 weeks in May, we gave away second swings in return for donations to Heart Children Central Otago, a local branch of the nationwide charity who support families of children living with heart problems. The charity runs over 50 services, ranging from pre-natal care right through to continued support into adulthood.
A MASSIVE thank you to our local agents and customers alike, who really threw themselves into it, all in the name of charity. What a fantastic way to make a difference! This was our 4th annual fundraiser; previous recipients are Wakatipu Search and Rescue, Dunedin’s Royal Albatross Centre and Child Cancer.
This year has seen the addition of mutli-shots to our video and photo packs. These brilliant multi-burst photos capture you all the way through your freefall, so you end up with one photo containing lots of you! We’re very proud that we’re the first peeps to offer this in New Zealand for our customers – just another reason that the magnificent Shotover Canyon Swing is leading the way…
So, you can try your hand at Matrix moves and we’ll make it happen! ‘Flips’ and ‘The Chair’ are 2 jump styles where you spin on the way down – they make epic multi-shots – you’re almost guaranteed to look like a pro acrobat!
Monday 24th May 2010 became the first swinger NNFDITWPD (Nearly National Fancy Dress in the Work Place Day). What an epic, fun-filled day – all swing staff dressed up in the name of fun and games, giving our customers even more of a unique swing experience.
Where else can you be checked in by a beautiful beer maid, strapped up by a naughty nurse and thrown off a cliff by a cute, cuddly cow? Shotover Canyon Swing takes cow tipping to a whole new level, quite a mooving experience! Puns were flowing aplenty, some you may have herd before…
We love it when customers come out in fancy dress too, it makes us smile and laugh and makes for amazing photos. The more creative the better, although we don’t want to drop anything over the edge, so we love it even more when it’s something well-constructed! 
Guess who came out to play on our giant rope swing the other day???? 2009 Brownlow Medallist and AFL legend Gary Ablett!!!!! On a holiday with his mates, Gary came out and did some seriously scary jumps – The Chair and Gimp Boy Goes To Hollywood! Check it out!!!!
The British Disabled Ski Team are used to danger, excitement, adrenalin, the wind whipping through their hair …… and they felt like they needed something else …. for one sunny morning on a quiet August Saturday …. we were … that something else ….
We had a few of these amazing athletes venture out with us recently and the boys took great pleasure in throwing them off 109 metre cliff … check out some of these awesome pictures and read the full story on stuff.co.nz !

Marc & Christina were scheduled to be in Sydney for work commitments and decided to extend their trip to take a late honeymoon and spend some time in Queenstown. They’d seen Lord of the Rings and were keen to come a check it out the real scenery for themselves. Initially only Marc was keen to try out our swing as part of his holiday and his wife reluctantly agreed to come and watch. Marc tried out a few different jumpstyles and vowed to come back for more.
Once back at the hotel Christina decided she would also take the plunge the following day, but we were full. They pushed back their flight to Auckland so that they could book on with us again and both came out to play!
They then flew to Sydney but after only 2 days decided to return to Queenstown and take an extra few days to come and jump with us again. They had to forfeit their return flights to LA and re-book the entire return journey with no refund! As soon as they were off the plane they came straight to our shop to book on again.
The following morning, not only did they come out for their scheduled trip, they also requested to stay on out at our site and join the next group to come through. They were out at site with us for over four hours, swinging happily and joining in with the fun. They said that we felt like family to them. They were due to fly out on Friday at 3pm so decided to fit in one last Swing session first thing on the Friday morning!
TV3 News loved the story and the couple’s positive outlook on life so much that they even included it in the Friday night news!
